The Park Cities neighborhoods share an affinity for dining and shopping along Lovers Lane, Swanky Highland Park Village, at the southwest corner of Preston Road and Mockingbird Lane, opened in 1931. It was built as a “town square” for Highland Park, with handsome colonial architecture reminiscent of Spain, Mexico, and California. “The Village” was declared a National Historic Landmark in 2000.
